Teachings

Excerpts from Rama’s teachings, compiled by her students:

The longing for the oneness. The longing to know that which we have never forgotten. We know at a deeper level. When that longing comes, it means that we’re open to a new layer or new level of our internal practice.

Love is the greatest power in the Universe, its the greatest healer and it transcends all the boundaries and all borders we have created with our own self-limitations.

Even if we don’t identify with the deities as separate beings, we can relate to them symbolically.

The day that I came out of my quiet inner world and could do for the world was an experience inner peace. I knew that day that I had to do something personally if I wanted peace in this world. I was scared to death because I was not politically-oriented, I knew I had to do something.

The knowledge is that we are already one. We have never been separated. It is only the consciousness that shows the separation. It is through the essence of separation that we begin to feel the pains of living, the pain of life.

Isn’t it exciting!

All of this is about rising above the sea of human suffering to feel the compassion for all those who have forgotten and to be there to lend a hand to help. We work through our forgetfulness and be there as a beacon of light in our own remembrance. All we can be is an example.

Yoga is the remembrance of the oneness that we already have. We are one. The universal and the individual.

The mideast war is a daily reminder for that peace does begin within each one of us and that there are no boundaries or borders between the souls of people.

On the inhalation, do nothing.

First of all, if a person has not been on their own inner search for peace and harmony, they should rush out to save the world. Instead, they need time to rush within and see the world within the self to find that inner harmony and inner peace and relate that in their family environments.

What does your lower self say?

Check the downward pull.

Dialogue is not a win or lose process where one sits down and tries to think what they will say when it’s their turn. It is really listening and taking in the message another is sharing. Good dialogue scenarios requires both parties to listen to what is not said as well as what is being said.

Hold the breath out. When the new breath must come in, watch it and let it go into pathways.

Move into the silence of the last syllable of Om and let the meaning repeat itself back to you. Wait for the sound to return.
